In some situations, we might need to temporarily close our preschool for the safety and well-being of our community. Here, you will find an overview of the circumstances that could lead to such closures and how we will keep you informed and updated during these events.
Snow Days:
In the event of significant snowfall that renders travel hazardous for our staff, we may need to close the preschool to ensure everyone's safety.
Since most of our staff commute by car, we must prioritise their well-being. Additionally, the preschool will follow suit if the school is closed due to snow.
To stay informed about closures, please tune in to local radio stations, such as Andover Sounds - 106.4 FM. We will also attempt to email all families before the preschool is scheduled to open.
If you are uncertain about the status of the preschool, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
COVID-19:
Following the global pandemic, we may be required to close our facility if a confirmed COVID-19 case is identified within our setting, as determined by the Department for Education (DfE).
We adhere to strict risk assessments and daily routines to minimise the risk of infection and ask families to follow the agreement they signed before their children attend preschool.
If closure becomes necessary, we will notify all families via email. Suppose children and staff are already in the building. In that case, we will call families to collect their children and observe the government-mandated isolation period.
Unmet Setting Requirements:
Certain situations, such as a lack of water supply, heating, or insufficient staff-to-child ratios, might necessitate temporary closure until the issue can be resolved.
In such cases, we will promptly communicate the situation to all families via email, Tapestry, or phone calls. We will strive to reopen within 24 hours of resolving the problem, ensuring minimal service disruption.
